UOV OPP INVESTIGATING SERIOUS COLLISION

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY TWP, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with the assistance of an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigator is investigating a fatal, single motor vehicle collision.

On May 15, 2021, shortly before 4:00 p.m., UOV OPP officers, along with Renfrew County Paramedics responded to a report of a vehicle laying on its side on Doran Rd just off Highway 17. The male driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

The deceased has been identified as 47-year-old Donald James SWITZER of Pembroke.
