Both Drivers Found Impaired in Petawawa Head-On Collision

Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two drivers with impaired driving following a collision in Petawawa.

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., officers from the UOV OPP responded to a report of a head-on collision on Town Centre Boulevard in the Town of Petawawa.

As part of the investigation an Approved Screening Devices (ASD) was utilized, and further testing was completed at the detachment.

As a result of the investigation, a 54-year-old from Petawawa has been charged under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act with:

•Operation while impaired – alcohol

•Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

•Careless driving

Additionally, a 33-years-old from Ottawa has been charged with:

•Operation while impaired – alcohol

•Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Both drivers received an immediate 90-day administrative driver’s licence suspension, and the vehicles they were operating were impounded for seven days.

The accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on August 17, 2026.
