(Petawawa, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating after a vehicle was stolen and recovered in Petawawa.
On February 7, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of a church on Ethel Street in Petawawa. The vehicle, a white SUV, was stolen sometime during the late evening hours of February 6, 2024, from the driveway of a residence on Pine Place in Petawawa. The vehicle had been left unlocked with the keys inside.
The vehicle fire, which was extinguished by the Petawawa Fire Department, is being treated as suspicious. An OPP Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) is assisting with the investigation.
