A Stolen Stop Sign Isn’t a Prank – It’s a Serious Safety Hazard
The Renfrew OPP is asking for the public’s assistance after a stop sign was stolen from the intersection of Queens Line and Foresters Falls Road.
Removing a stop sign creates an extremely dangerous situation for everyone using our roads. Motorists who are unfamiliar with the intersection may proceed without stopping, significantly increasing the risk of a serious or even fatal collision.
In addition to putting lives at risk, stealing road signs comes at a cost. Every stolen or damaged traffic sign must be replaced using taxpayer dollars—money that could be better spent on other important community services.
If you have any information about the theft of this stop sign or witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, please contact the Renfrew OPP at 1-888-310-1122. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at ValleyTips.ca
Please help us keep our roads safe. If you notice a missing or damaged traffic sign, report it immediately to your local municipality or police.
Road signs save lives. Leave them where they belong.
