(PETAWAWA) – 4 June 2025 – Ontario Provincial Police remain on scene of a serious collision on Highway 17 just west of Paquette Road in the Town of Petawawa. A detour is in place and significant delays can be expected. There is no estimated time for the highway to reopen.
Police responded to the collision between a pick-up truck and a transport truck carrying fuel around 9:30am on June 4, 2025. The driver of the pick-up truck was transported by ORNGE air ambulance to the regional trauma centre with serious injuries, and specialized environmental clean-up teams were dispatched due leaking fuel.
OPP Technical Traffic Investigations and Reconstructionists are on scene, along with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of the Environment.
