DECEASED DOG FOUND IN MACKEY CREEK

Investigation underway

(HEAD-CLARA-MARIA TWP, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating after the remains of a deceased dog were found floating in Mackey Creek in Head, Clara, and Maria Township. The large black dog, similar to a Labrador Retriever, was found on the morning of Tuesday September 14, 2021 by a citizen in the area near the boat launch. The dog did not have a microchip or identification tag.

Evidence located surrounding the discovery of the dog suggests foul play may be involved in the death of the dog. A necropsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
