Charges Laid and Police Still Looking for Information

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment (UOV) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a male from Ottawa in connection with sexual related offences involving a child.
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, UOV OPP officers received information that a child may have been lured over the internet for sexual purposes.
As a result of the investigation, a 23 year old male from Ottawa was charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
– Sexual assault cause bodily harm – choke, suffocate or strangle – two counts
– Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication
– Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age – three counts
– Sexual interference – two counts
– Possession of child abuse and exploitation material
– Making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age
The accused remains in custody.
