RENFREW OPP INVESTIGATING ATTEMPT MURDER INCIDENT

(RENFREW, ON) – Members of the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested and charged one individual with serious offences, including attempt to commit murder.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 8:15pm members of the Renfrew OPP responded to a weapons call for service in the Town of Arnprior. One person was found at scene with serious injuries.

A 40-year-old from Arnprior has been charged with:

–      Attempt to Commit Murder

–      Uttering threats – cause death of bodily harm

–      Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose

–      Aggravated assault

–      Assault with a weapon

The accused was held for a bail hearing, and the investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Renfrew Crime Unit.
